History of INORA
When we see our past, History of INORA, it was very exciting to remember. At INORA Biotech, our story began back in 1990, rooted in a simple but powerful belief, healthy soil is the foundation of a healthy ecosystem. At a time when soil health was often overlooked, we recognized its critical importance, not just for agriculture, but for environmental sustainability as a whole.
Our early work focused on understanding and improving soil biological fertility, the complex web of microorganisms and life forms that make soil productive and resilient. We explored earthworm biotechnology, agricultural microbiology, and organic waste composting, all with a single aim in mind, to bridge the gap between scientific research and practical, real-world applications. This vision bringing innovation from lab to land, continues to drive us today.
As we evolved, so did our methods. We’ve consistently focused on developing sustainable, research-backed, and scalable technologies that address pressing challenges in farming, gardening, and organic waste management. Our goal is to offer end-to-end solutions, empowering communities with tools that are both effective and environmentally responsible.
Our in-house Microbiology and Soil Biotechnology Laboratory plays a central role in this mission. It’s here that we design and produce our own bioremediation agents and microbial vermiculture products, key components in transforming waste into valuable resources and rejuvenating soil health.
But our approach is not just about taking lab innovations to the field. We also believe deeply in the reverse: a “land to lab” approach. By observing what’s happening on the ground, literally, we bring valuable insights back into our lab for further research and refinement. This two-way exchange ensures that our solutions are not only scientifically sound but also grounded in real-world needs.
What truly makes INORA Biotech stand out is our people. We are a team of 75 passionate individuals, drawn from diverse fields including Life Sciences, Microbiology, Biodiversity, Agriculture, Engineering, Social Sciences, and both urban and rural development sectors. Each member brings unique expertise, but we are united by a common purpose: to drive positive change through innovative, nature-based solutions.
It is a short history of Inora, as we look ahead, our commitment remains strong to nurture the soil, support sustainable agriculture, and help build a greener, cleaner future for generations to come.
